2008 Expanded Functions Dental Assisting Financial Information and Important Dates
- Tuition - $5,275.00. The 6 weeks summer training is offered June 26-August 8, 2008.
- Scholarship opportunities may become available upon acceptance.
Application deadline is November 30, 2007.
- Tooth Morphology Course. This course will be offered on January 9, 10, 11, 2008. This course is a prerequisite to the 6 weeks of training offered in the summer of 2008. The cost of the course is $250.00. If the applicant is accepted in to the 2008 EFDA Program, the price of the course will be deducted from the tuition.
- Applicant interviews February, 2008.
- Candidate will know of acceptance by March 7, 2008.
- Once student receives acceptance to the program, a $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due by March 24, 2008.
- Full tuition payment is due May 2, 2008.
- Student is eligible for 75% tuition reimbursement if he/she withdraws for a medical emergency (doctor note requested). There will be no refund issued after June 13, 2008.
- Tuition includes textbook and a typodont.
- Twelve students will be enrolled in the 2008 EFDA Program.
The student must have a sponsoring restorative dentist participate with him/her in the program. The dentist will be responsible for supervising the student’s field training. Clinical field training starts immediately following the 6 week training. The student and dentist have until December 31, 2008 to complete the required clinical competencies. A bench test will be administered in January, 2009. Upon successful completion of this test, training is finalized.
- The dentist and the student are also obligated to participate in the Satellite Guidelines Meeting consisting of an on-site visit to Vermont Dental Care in Winooski, VT. This early June meeting is mandatory and includes a tour of the facilities, observing an EFDA in a clinical situation. After the tour, participants return to the CTE Dental Assisting classroom to review forms and answer questions. The meeting is held in the afternoon and lasts no more than 2.5 hours. The date will be determined and student/dentist notified.
